Inspiration = Ethan Bortnick

Listen to Ethan play the piano on the Leno Show. He didn't learn 'how to' - he just listened, and played!

He's such a cutie-pie, and so adult in the way he thinks. The first part is a little interview with Jay Leno, and then Leno invites him to play.

I'm kinda learning the piano. I'm technically at Grade 1, but I stopped when my dad got ill, and didn't resume lessons for one reason or another. After listening to Ethan play (and he plays a couple of pieces I'm still struggling with!), I'm inspired to get back to my piano again :)

Enjoy this little bundle of music, and have a great weekend!

  1. Oh yeah! I've watched this video before and left him a nice comment! He is so cute, so caring and so charming! He was worried about the otter. LOL! His two greatest passions are music and animals. He released an album in the US, with some of the music he composed himself according to how he felt when he sees certain animals, like lions and hippos. His promo video for the album was outrageously cute! Ethan Bortnick is the king of non-sequitors! Talking about animals one moment and music the next. He is such a natural! You could tell he'll never use a prepared script in his life!

  2. Pat,

    If there is one talent that I really would like to have, it's playing the piano. You go ahead and continue with your lessons. Hopefully I can hear you play one day.

  3. E,

    Yes, he's the cutest thing, isn't he? A natural!

    Fadhil,

    I know what you're saying! I know I must get back to studying it seriously.

    Right now, I still play. But, it's to go over the 'old' pieces I learned - just to see if I still can do it.

    Also, there's a 'cheater-button' on my piano, where with one finger I can plan a whole chord! So, I'm often on it, and playing songs I like and singing away!!! HAHAHAH!

    And when I'm fed-up with that, I'll turn to my minus-one pieces on I-Tunes, and I'll sing there!

    But, nothing beats making sweet music on the keys. Yes, one day lah - I'll be good enough to play for you ;)

  4. ... and Fadhil...

    You ever thought of taking it up yourself? OMG there is nothing more humbling than sitting in front of the damn keys, knowing what your left or right fingers are supposed to do, and how . . . but seeing them refuse to move or do the right thing for you!!!!

    Hahahah! Be brave lah! Give it a go, too :)
