Pauvre Ringo, ce n'est juste, ce n'est pas un compliment spirituel comme les autres ont eu...Injuste, moi je dis Ringo had the beat of them all...ou quelque chose d'autre que drummer
ReplyDeleteje said Ringo held them all together in the same heart beat, that sounds better n'est-ce pas?
ReplyDeleteA better formulation might be: John was the intellect (Fire), Paul the emotions (Water), George the spiritual core (Air), and Ringo grounded them (Earth) with his "just some decent bloke you met at the pub" persona.
ReplyDeleteOui, Lorraine, tu as raison, bien sûr.
ReplyDeleteI think the writer just couldn't think of how to represent Ringo. Lazy, I guess.
OR, he didn't know anything about music - because really, like you say: Ringo was the heartbeat of the group. The gel that held them all together.
Which is very much what Antares says!
A much better formulation indeed, Ant!!! Ringo wasn't full of himself either. I agree that he was probably the one that held them all together.
My favourite Beatle has always been George Harrison. And as I say his name, 'As my guitar gently weeps' plays in my head.
I hate it when I forget to 'preview' what I write and then read over what I've written when it's too damn late!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, yah, we can all agree that I think that Ringo was the glue that "held them all together". THERE! I've said it three times now, so 'Make it so' - as Jean Luc Picard says!
LOL oh yeah and also love what Antares said, how brilliant
ReplyDeleteYes, that is what Antares does best: Be brilliant :)
ReplyDeleteRingo was THE Star!
ReplyDeleteMight as well give Brian Epstein the "metal" to complete the 5 elements. LOL! Here's a simple dedication to the Fab4...
ReplyDeleteThe world is not what it used to be, not one I knew before
The music that they play today, is just not good at all
There once was John and Paul, and George, and a lad called Ringo Starr
The song I loved the most then was, “O-bla-di O-bla-da”
“Give Peace a Chance” and “Get Back”, are still being played today
For me, the Beatles are the greatest, no matter what they say
p.s. Don't ask me, I've forgoten how I got here...
Are you a drummer at heart, Fadhil? I think you must be!!!
ReplyDeleteI sing, so it is voice that I always notice first. Drums are what I need to keep the beat.
But I've heard drum-fans speak of Ringo's brilliance at the drums, and how innovative he was, and how he had PERFECT timing, and I see it all with a new perspective.
SO: Bila nak berdrumming untuk saya, eh?!
Dear Anon person: Thank you for visiting, and for the little rhyme.
ReplyDelete(Your comment came in late, that's why I'm replying late.)
No problem Pat. Glad you like my little dedication. Tomorrow a lot of our boys will be singing Beatles "Revolution" with the new 901 version.
ReplyDeletep.s. Now I remember the bus number that got me here. Will visit you again...
Revolution is one of my favourite Beatles' songs. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI was at the Duta court with some friends this morning. The air was simply electrifying. I was about two feet from the big man as he stood there thanking the supporters and taking interviews from the press people after the acquittal. No incident as 99.99% were Pakatan supporters. Except for some loud bangs (they said those were bomb explosions) somewhere in the vicinity.
ReplyDeleteRevolution version 901
I'm glad you're all right. I read that it was felt that those bangs were homemade. Ahh well, people don't like to lose; or people don't like it when things go well?
ReplyDeleteYes, let's hope we're moving towards the light.
